The American Cancer Society estimates that during 2007 some 218,890 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 27,050 men will die from it—accounting for about 10% of cancer-related deaths in U.S. men. About 1 man in 6 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, but, at current rates, only 1 man in 34 will die of it. A little more than 1.8 million men in the United States are survivors of prostate cancer. Considering the importance of this topic, IMCJ is pleased to provide insights and information from one of the leading researchers in the area of prostate health.
